Utah Legislature Passes $6,000 Grant for New Construction

Last Night the Utah State Legislation passed the new construction housing incentive that will essentially give buyers $6,000 in down-payment assistance when they purchase new construction homes they plan to live in.

  • The loan officer will request the funds as the loan is being processed.
  • The grant funds must be used within 30 days of request.
  • To qualify, the New Construction Home must have an occupancy permit.
  • Buyers must have an annual income of less than $75,000 if single or $150,000 if married.
  • First time buyers can qualify for this grant as well as the $8,000 federal tax credit.
  • Further details will be released from the state today. There is only enough money available for 1,600 buyers to receive this grant, so act quickly if you’re interested in buying a New Construction Home.
